So you want to get a PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification

This short article will keep you some details of what is required for when you intend on taking the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam.

Firstly you will need to have the Foundation exam and the pass mark is 50% (35 or more out of 70 marked questions).  This is a prerequisite and without this pass you cannot take the practitioner exam.

It is a given for the practitioner level candidate that you will understand the PRINCE2 method inside out.  Even though it is a multiple choice exam you should be under no illusions that it is significantly harder than the foundation level questions.

In the exam you will be given a scenario and each of the questions will examine different aspects of PRINCE2.  There are nine questions and seven of these will each focus on a different theme.  The other two questions will focus on processes which are grouped e.g. Starting Up a Project and Initiating a Project as one group.  From this you can see that the 7 themes are of significant importance and you should prepare accordingly.

In the exam you will need to show that you can apply and customise the application of PRINCE2 to the requirements and issues of the given project scenario.  In doing so you will be directly showing that you understand the relationships between the themes, principles and processes, as well as different PRINCE2 products, the reasoning behind them and your ability to apply them.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification is very much the industry standard within the UK and is being seen as a global standard.  It is in use in more than 21 countries across the world and the benefits in its application of being increasingly seen.
